What you write in this book stays in this book. We do not collect it, see it or share it.
The app
- The Planetary Sigils app works offline. On Android it has no internet access at all; on iPhone it makes no network requests.
- There is no account and no sign-in.
- The app collects no data and shares no data with anyone: no analytics, no advertising, no tracking.
- Your sigils and notes are stored on your device. If you use Android backup or iCloud Backup, they're included in your own backup. PlanetWard never receives, collects or shares them.
- Nothing leaves the app unless you choose to share it yourself, through your device's share sheet. On iPhone, Save Image adds the picture to Photos, and asks your permission the first time.
- The app does not ask for your location. Planetary hours are worked out for a city you choose from the book's own list of cities, or from your device's time zone. The city you choose is kept on your device.
- If you turn on the hour in the status bar, the app asks for permission to post notifications and shows the hour as a silent notification on your device. On iPhone, the same hour can show on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island as a Live Activity, only if you turn it on. The widgets (home screen, and the Lock Screen on iPhone) show the hours the app worked out on your device. None of these sends anything anywhere.
- Uninstalling the app removes what it stored on the device.
The website
- planetarysigils.com has no account, no analytics and no advertising.
- Your reading preferences (sound, volume, whether you have crossed the Threshold) are kept in your own browser's storage. Nothing you write on the slates is sent anywhere, and the slates are wiped when you reload.
- The site does not ask for your location. The city you choose for the planetary hours, from the book's own list, is kept in your own browser's storage.
- The site's typefaces are served with the site itself, and the site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web server, Vercel receives the technical details of your request, such as your IP address.
- The legacy edition of the site, shown from within the book on the web, is a separate site with its own policies.
